Reflexology for a healthier well -being

Reflexology is a physical therapy treatment where pressure is applied onto certain parts of the body. The parts such as the hands, feet, and ears are called reflex points, which are connected to our internal organs. Most people find that reflexology helps with mental and physical healing. This treatment helps with those who want to live a healthy life and it starts from within.

There are many fundamental factors when beginning the treatment and that includes nutrients.  Having a balance diet is a step to improving the inner organs of the body. Macronutrients and micronutrients are chemical elements that individuals consume a lot of . It includes fats, carbohydrates, minerals, water, calcium, and vitamins. By eating too much refine food can decrease the amount of nutrients in the body. Secondly, it’s important to have great posture because it can lead to tense muscles. Exercising in general can improve muscle strength, mood, stamina, and heart. To check your posture, stand straight against a wall and be sure that there is no space in between. Correcting your posture will help you breath better. Erasing the negative thoughts in the mind can change the whole outlook of the mind and body.

When researching about reflexology the term Chakra will appear. Chakra Sanskrit means wheel that is the wheel of the body and how it rotates within the body. Each pressure point is looked at as a body part and have certain points named after the organs in our body. For instance place your finger at the top point of the ear that is called the bum then slowly move your finger counting down 3 times and that point is called the spine. There are many different theories of how this treatment works . Below are a few easy techniques that can be done while relaxing in front of the TV, or at work.

 Easy pressure techniques

Foot

Begin at the heal of the foot by intertwining both hands together and placing it under the foot. Gently squeeze the foot until with the pressure feels fine. This circulates the blood in the foot. Then move upwards squeezing the entire foot but be sure to use the heel of your hands when applying pressure.

Hands

Pinch the tips of your fingertips and then pinch the side of each finger. After doing so begin to massage the bottom of the fingers and the side. Grasp each finger and firmly tug on the fingers, once your done then pinch in-between  (web) each finger. Rest hand down and use thumb and massage the back of the hand and the wrist. Applying pressure to the outer part of the palm and side of palm.  These techniques will have anyone relax.

Ear

When professionals perform this treatment to the ear they use special needles, however you can use a toothpick or fingernail. Start off by rubbing the ear with both the index finger and thumb to circulate the blood in the ear. Take the earlobe and pull on it about 5 times. Gently massage the lobe then move towards the center of the outside of the ear and massage the entire ear.
